reminiscing.

A broken twig. A lone, fallen leaf. The roof will still be damp tomorrow morning. That red house stands opposite me, like it always does, as I stare into the rainy evening. Sunlight, gradually stealing away. It is at this very spot that I have sat and contemplated a million times. All those previous problems seem trivial now. I sit here once again today, perhaps not contemplating but reminiscing.
A thousand summers such as these, it seems we have had. A thousand rains such as these. A thousand times we have drenched ourselves in them. Me in red, you in white. The earth, Orange.
The corridors will still echo with our laughter, our joy. The steps will still reverberate with our running feet. Lectures will still be disturbed with our chatter. Those endless hours we spent kiosking, over countless cups of coffee. So many times we fought, so many times we made up. Hawks, eagles and juxtapositions. Gossip. Bitching. Hours of shopping. All those afternoons we’d walk for Kerala parotas and Andhra rasam for lunch. Lanjas and perugus. Those times we’d stop at the neighbouring temple for raw mangos or guavas from the street vendor. Malayalam and mallus. Arguments. Jokes. Getting shouted at, getting thrown out of class. Fighting time to turn in papers and assignments wondering, when all this will be over, hoping that they soon will be. And now that they are, we seem to want all that back. All those crazy days. Small things that then seemed insignificant.
Whatever makes you happy.
I did indeed have the time of my life.

nice to read your blog after such a long time

    but

    you seem stuck!

interesting - cause weirdly I can relate - knowing the "dreamer" you are,

still, i have this nagging feeling - when will you grow up
    :-)

    kidding - there's a time for everything

    guess you're not yet ready
